Want to add a new plant to our code book?

AWESOME!

Our Code Book is starting out with 30 plants, but there are many other plants that also are symbolic and have interesting meanings that you may want to use for your plant creations. We are using the Old Farmer's Almanac as our main Victorian Floriography Guide so we can keep our interpretations in line. There are many different plant deciphering books that exist, so plants can have multiple meanings depending on whose code book you are looking at.

For the purposed of our Garden of Hope project, the Kennedy Heights Arts Center's Floriography Code Book will be how we decipher each other's messages.

If you have researched a new plant that is not already a part of the KHAC Code Book, you plan to use it in your plant creation, and you would like us to add it to the online KHAC Floriography Code Book - we'd love to add it!

Please do the following:

Send an EMAIL to residency@kennedyarts.org

In the SUBJECT LINE put: "Add to Code Book"

In the body of the email, please include:

1. Your first and last name

2. Plant Name

3. Plant Meaning

Then please UPLOAD a JPEG of the plant. This can be a jpeg you find on the internet, it does not have to be a picture you took yourself.

If you have completed your creation of the plant and would like to send us a picture of that too, we'd love to see it!
